JBS Scone
Project Summary
JBS Australia faced a serious problem with its Scone Abattoir. The existing earth bank had collapsed against the insulated panel walls for the Chillers. Unfortunately, the problem was complicated by the fact that the earth bank supported the piperack that carried services for the entire site.
JBS turned to DonnaQ for a solution which would not affect production at the critical plant. DonnanQ developed a design solution and construction methodology using new 900mm diameter bored piers installed first to support the piperack, then excavated the failed bank away. State of the art scanning technology was utilised to ensure a smooth construction delivery and the tight construction tolerances required.
The active phase of construction only required eight weeks, with no loss of services to the plant which remained running for the complete period.
