Teys Australia recognised the urgency to protect its primary abattoir at Beenleigh, Queensland. Teys selected Donnan (QLD) to provide a full Design and Construct package to both the Australian Standards and the FM Global standards.

Donnan adopted multiple design solutions for the vastly different areas, which incorporated Blast Freezers, Plate Freezers, Racking Storage and congested Process areas. Working through the difficult conditions of first the Covid Pandemic, then the post-Covid material shortage, the project was complete in slightly over a year.

Teys used the opportunity and Donnan’s expertise in Brownfield projects to replace the roofing for three stages of the pipework, and to remove the last of the Asbestos from the site.

All of the works were completed without interrupting Teys operations, with two shifts per day completely unaffected.
